A Weekly Ai PREDICTION …

Did you know that a US Court deemed Ai work as not copyrightable? Will Ai works ever be copyrightable?

YES, it's only a matter of time. Believe it or not, humans and Ai create works in very similar ways. Ai currently relies heavily on its sources, but even now it uses only a small amount of unaltered material mixed with a reinterpreting of that material. Like humans, Ai currently can overuse found original sources, but eventually will continue to rewrite and reinterpret its sources, reducing the margin for plagiarism. Eventually, Ai will produce original works just like humans, and just like humans, it will do it from a life of accumulated data it receives, aka, reviews, inspirations, readings and reinterpret it better and better so as to not be a copy of any single work.

Initially, humans may hide their use of Ai assistance, but eventually, they will proudly acknowledge it and celebrate the unique reinterpretation of their influences. Like computers, the now original Ai works will only help humans innovate faster and faster.

Ai in the News

Meta (Facebook/Instagram) will label more posts/reels/captions as written by Ai, starting in May. This is in response to the need for better policies due to Ai-manipulated content. The labels will be applied through self-disclosure, advice from fact-checkers, or Meta's detection of AI-made content markers.

In an X Post, Musk boasts that Grok 2 will be finished in May and will surpass the capabilities of GPT-4, positioning it as a formidable competitor in the AI chatbot landscape, particularly in response to OpenAI's ChatGPT.

The surge in demand for Ai-powered apps has led to the emergence of a new tech economy focused on AI app development. Forbes' Ai 50 list highlights promising AI companies, attracting significant investor interest and funding. This competitiveness is evident in the record number of submissions, reflecting AI's growing influence across industries.
