Your Weekly Dose of Ai News
Greetings,
You may have already heard that the new AI voiceover of GPT-4oh snap,… lol, sounds suspiciously similar to Scarlett Johansson, the Ai voice in the movie HER of all things, with Joaquin Phoenix.
Scarlett also declined OpenAI’s offer twice! So it’s going to be kind of hard to claim coincidence.
… anyhow, what do you think?
Welcome to another issue of Weekly.Ai as we try to make you the Ai voiceover in your office.
What you’ll learn today? Building a blog with Ai in under 10 minutes.
That said, here are some of the latest releases and newest toys you should be aware of…

Anthropic made a huge breakthrough in understanding Ai
I know this Topic is a bit technical, but if you want to use advanced techniques, or perhaps build your own Ai for your Business, it’s important to understand how it works.
Anthropic reported a breakthrough in understanding the inner workings of Ai models by identifying how millions of concepts are represented inside Claude Sonnet, a large language model (LLM).
Anthropic is a company focused on Ai safety and research. They aim to create interpretable Ai systems that align with human values, reducing risks associated with advanced Ai technologies.
This is the first detailed examination of a modern, production-grade large language model, with implications for improving Ai safety.
Some context:
One of the biggest mysteries in Ai is interpreting the “black box”. It is what the model is "thinking" before writing its response.
If we don't know how they think, how do we know they won't give harmful, biased, untruthful, or otherwise dangerous responses? How can we trust that they’ll be safe and reliable?
Opening the "black box" doesn't necessarily help, as the internal state is just a long list of meaningless numbers ("neuron activations").
Scientists at Anthropic found that specific neuron activity patterns, called "features," are linked to particular ideas in an Ai model, allowing its internal state to be described with just a few active features.
Just as words are made by combining letters and sentences by combining words, Ai features are made by combining neurons, and internal states by combining features.
Key findings:
Feature Causality: Researchers found that adjusting how strong certain “features” fire, affects both the model's behavior and the outputs.
Here’s a short Video explaining it better than I ever could.
For example, where Claude (an Ai) usually refuses to reply due to ethical concerns, triggering the "Scam Email" feature more strongly forces the AI to comply with the user's request.
Safety Concerns: Anthropic thinks that being able to spot and change certain features can make AI safer. For instance, if we enhance a feature that helps recognize scam emails, the AI might get better at spotting scams and alerting users.
What this means for you:
One thing we at BotBuilders do is help you create and sell Ai chatbots. Knowing how Ai works, and its Problems makes you ultimately more trustworthy.
If you’d like us to create an issue around this topic, please send us a quick email at [email protected]
Also, by understanding and manipulating these features, researchers can potentially monitor and steer AI behavior towards safer outcomes.
Ai in the News
Google Maps just got cool new AI upgrades.
Directly chat with Google Maps and ask it for any information.
Augmented reality: Find nearby ATMs, restaurants, streets, etc. with your Camera.
you can scope out places before visiting, see photorealistic views, and get helpful information like weather forecasts, and peak crowd times.
combine words and images to discover what you’re searching for freshly and innovatively – accessing information from millions of local businesses on Google Maps.
Ai-powered suggestions on the go.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced, that in the future Microsoft Pc’s, some Ai processing will happen directly in the computer.
One feature in action: If you wanted to buy something last night but don’t remember the name or brand. Just describe it, and it’ll pull up the website again.
This may seem a bit creepy: Microsoft taking Pictures of your Computer …
But according to Satya Nadella, it’s all done locally on your computer, and won’t leave it.
But If you’re still concerned, you can also restrict recall to take screenshots from certain websites or apps or you could turn it off entirely.
If you find this interesting, Joanna Stern made a great Video on The Wall Street Journal about it.
